One bet on himself. A town that showed up.
In March 2024, Omar Hamoda — a Harvard University student studying Economics, Psychology and Global Health — printed hundreds of flyers and walked them to every house in Milton, hoping someone would trust a college student to tutor their child.
Milton showed up. Within a month he had over a dozen students. When he left for Harvard that fall, he didn't stop — he kept tutoring virtually and hired fellow top-scorers from Milton Academy and other elite colleges to build a team.
Today, OmarTutors is a team of Harvard students and elite college tutors, each of whom recently scored in the top percentiles on the exact exams they teach. The results speak for themselves: an average of 210 points gained, students admitted to Harvard and Boston College, Ivy League athletic recruitment, and $10,000 in scholarships delivered to Milton families.

Our mission
Since I started, I've had one underlying motivation: prepare as many people from Milton to succeed as possible. Not everyone is applying to Harvard, and they don't need to be. What matters is helping students build confidence, structure, and belief in their ability to improve — and then delivering the results to prove it.
