Dear Milton: What a Year It's Been — Thank You
I'm immensely grateful for this town and all of the blessings it's presented me with in 2024. Last March, I started my SAT tutoring business with the goal of giving back to Milton.
What a year it's been. I'm immensely grateful for this town and all of the blessings it's presented me with in 2024.
Last March, I started my SAT tutoring business with the goal of giving back to the town that gave me everything. My goal was to make an impact by helping aspiring high-achieving students score exceptionally high. In the first month, while still studying at Milton Academy, I amassed over a dozen students who saw the same vision I did. I am very proud to say that I have worked with almost 30 students to date in math, SAT, and other standardized tests.
When I left Milton in the fall to pursue a college education at Harvard University, I didn't want to give up my vision. I continued tutoring Milton residents virtually for October and December SAT exams. I also wanted to give work opportunities to exceptionally bright students at Milton Academy, where my dream started. Today, almost 10 tutors — including a perfect 1600 scorer and many other bright talents — have joined our team, tutoring in SAT, ISEE, SSAT, and beyond.
What's the secret?
- Regular practice tests allow you to apply what you're learning and see what you need to study.
- Studying what you get wrong on the practice tests allows you to fill in your gaps and not waste your time on hundred-page textbooks of general knowledge.
- Having others hold you accountable ensures that you make progress over time.
If you will allow me, I would like to be the reason that you achieve your goals in the SAT and beyond. Thank you.
— Omar
